Everyone these days seems to be talking about the
empowerement of women. Personally, I think every person should be empowered if
they wanted. we should be helping All of, not only a few.
I am perfectly aware that women were discriminated during
ages and still are in some parts of the world. But so are men, we mustn't
forget. I very much agree with the #HeforShe UN campaign, for which Emma Watson
is the most sounding voice and image, mostly because she mentioned this issue
precisely. And this leads me to the true purpose of my post today:
Being POSITIVE and CONFIDENT!
These are the ingredients with which you have to start your
path and without which you aren't likely to succeed...in nearly anything. If
you keep a positive attitude, there is an immediate mental jump into a whole
new range of possibilities that you probably couldn't see before. But you can't
actually see them and tackle them if you don't believe in yourself. It's like
know that the opportunities are there, only not for you because you could never
reach them. True: if you think this way, you never will.
I've heard people say that being positive is just day
dreaming about things that deep down inside you know you can't have. And yet, I
never heard anyone successful say they didn't have a postive mental attitude.
About being confident, though, everyone agrees but not
everyone actually pulls it off. That is simples: if you have a negative
mindset, you look in a mirror and you only see disaster leading flaws.
Moreover, you tend to attract people who also thing negative, which ultimately
generates a downward spiral. You don't want that, we don't want that. Because
when this happens, you're not only harming yourself - you're unconsciously
affecting the people you interact with.
I have recently tried that myself. We all have our
"why-did-I-get-up-today" kind of days, but it doesn't last forever.
At most...24 hours, and it never really lasts that long, because there is
always something good that happens everyday, however little it may be. We even
get to choose what to do with it - ignore or let it brighten your day!
Probably, you're thinking, "yes, but something bad also
happens everyday". And I tell you that you also have a choice here. A
choice of looking at it as a lesson, be thankfull that you're not fooled again
by that particular experience and move on because there's a beatiful day ahead
of you full of opportunities.
Being confident is not being narcisististic. It is having
the capacity of analysing yourself and taking advantage of the best in you -
looks, talents, what makes you stand out. It is also know what you're not so
good at and trying to improve it. Ask people you admire for advice, or even
serach it on the internet. You'll be surprised how helpful those statements
online actually are!
Don't be afraid to go out there and conquer your day with
someting unique that you and only you have. Find it and use it!
